Operation Nightsong Part 3: Encounter at Listening Post Wildcat

We're back with another Infinity N4 battle report; this game was played on November 30th, 2024. This time, we saw me take control of my Tartary Army Corps to take on a newer player (Connor) playing his Japanese Sectorial Army. We played the Direct Action mission Uplink Center at 200 points. This is Connor's first game of Infinity in easily 6 months, so this was more of the learning/reminder game of how Infinity is played at the basic level. Hindsight being what it is, I should have approached this more like a demo series using one of the Operation books instead; as will be pointed out later on. That thought was more-so on my part, as I find the older Operation booklets to be a better framework for teaching the game instead of just running a small point game to teach, since they give the tier escalation approach to introducing new rules. Neither of us have a full painted force either, as Connor is preparing to repaint his collection, and I am just lazy and have not painted much ...

After Action Report: Operation Nightsong: An Infinity N4 Battle Report

So it's been nearly a full year since my last post on here, and a LOT has changed in life. Between my local game store closing, picking up other games like Bushido from GCT Studios, Half-Tilt from TTCombat, and Fallout Factions and Wasteland Warfare from Modiphius, I have had a load of models to work on and not a lot of time to play games. The game was a standard 300 point game using the ITS16 mission for the Direct Action Mission: Battleground ; the rules for that mission can be found here . Unfortunately, I made my list with options for Frontline, cause I forgot what mission we had initially agreed upon! Obvious disclaimer for this battle report is I have not played much infinity beyond a series of demo games since easily April of 2024, so saying I...

A Shattergrounds Battle Report: Operation Slingshot

###Prologue### Col Kraznitsky, walked into the cantina at FOB North Bay, that's to the north of Okolnir. It was lit by aging bulbs, a fire in the hearth, and the lights from cigarettes. The rain had picked up since his team arrived from Okolnir, and the sound of those cold droplets sounded relaxing on the metal roofing top the old domed structure. Kraznitsky remembered seeing this style building in some history books of 20th century conflicts, but didn't realize he may end up in something similar to it.  He saw the person he was going to meeting off on the side next to an open window the opened to an overhang, a nice cold breeze when the rain can't get in, or at least not as much when the wind picked up. This was Col Gretizky, the officer in charge of the launch site relating to Operation Slingshot. "Looks like you've seen better days ol friend" Kraznitsky said as he walked up. "Need anything before we get started?" Col Gretizky took a drag on his ...
