Operation Bone-Rustler Part 4: Gamma Team: An Infinity N5 Battle Report

Image
So today we see the final part of Operation Bone-Rustler! Unlike the first 3 parts, this is a full-on 300pt game. This will see the forces of the Tartary Army Corps led by Colonel Kraznitsky clash into the forces of the Shindenbutai in the central hub of the research facility. With this being the final game at 300 pts, there's really no restriction to the force org we're using unlike the last few missions, this is seen below during the list info. ### ### ### Prologue ### ### ### Col Kraznitsky's small flight of Pelicans flies down to pre-determined landing zones just outside to central hub of the facility. "Here's you go Colonel. Radio back when you're ready for evac." the pilot told the Colonel over the radio. "Will do Captain, keep the flight nearby in case anything heavier pops up. Remember, while we're here for our mission for, if any civilian vessels leave the AO, we cannot pursue. Copy?" "Copy Colonel." The Colonel watched as ...

Operation Bone-Rustler Part 3: Charlie Team: An Infinity N5 Battle Report

Image
If you somehow found this blog post before reading part 1, you can read that here. This time, we are on the next step of the "Operation" series of games between the forces of the Tartary Army Corps and the JSA Shindenbutai forces. This is the final one of the "standard escalation" missions we are using for this Operation bundle. We elected to modify our "final" mission lists to be 150 points, but using the same models that we would normally have in our teams. ### ### ### Prologue ### ### ### The Pelican for Charlie Team approached wide for their combat zone, the pilot being one of the local "crazies" from the Blue-Ridge 1st Pelican squadron, which is still located out of Kaksin as Blue-Ridge does not have the infrastructure for the two needed Pelican bays. Charlie Team disembarked from their Pelican surprisingly quick, eschewing any sort of stealth as they are being deployed with a suit of Ratnik armor. The team got right to work getting into a ...

Operation Bone-Rustler Part 2: Bravo Team: An Infinity N5 Battle Report

If you somehow found this blog post before reading part 1, you can read that here . This time, we are on the next step of the "Operation" series of games between the forces of the Tartary Army Corps and the JSA Shindenbutai forces. ### ### ### Prologue ### ### ### The Pelican for Bravo Team came in screaming, taking more small arms and MANPAD fire than the other Pelicans on approach. While the Pelican was peppered with fire, Bravo Team was able to deploy from the dropship to their fire zone. Taking up firing positions, Bravo Team came under immediate fire from a more aggressive defense force. ### ### ### ### The Board ### The board did not change one bit from the board in Part 1. All terrain and the mat are from Corvus Belli and their Operation Sandtrap box set. ### The Mission ### Just like in Part 1, this is essentially playing Annihilation. This time though, we're exploring the wonders of more Advance Deployment skills, such as Forward Deployment and Infiltration. I k...

Operation Bone-Rustler Part 1: Alpha Team: An Infinity N5 Battle Report

Image
Today, we're back with a game of Infinity N5, seeing the first of a series of escalating games between my Ariadna from the Tartary Army Corps versus my buddy Connor, piloting his JSA from Shindenbutai. This game was played on January 4th, 2025.  The escalating series is somewhat similar to the older "Operation X" mission packs, such as within Operation Black-wind, where players can learn to play the game using baby-steps to introduce new rules and units. While Connor has played a handful of games of Infinity, no one actually walked him through an Operations series to learn. Running this series would be helpful for both of us, as Connor learns about the newer rulings for Infinity N5, and I can better understand how some of the new rules interactions will work.  Also, as a note for those who like the Lore aspect of these batreps, this batrep will cover the beginning slight lead-up to Operation Bone-Rustler, with Part 4 holding the results of the operation. ### ### ### Prolo...

After Action Review: Operation Hybrid Force: An Infinity Battle Report

Image
We're back again with another Infinity Battle Report, this time seeing the forces of the PanOceania Kestrel Colonial Force face off against the Japanese Successionist Army Shindenbutai. This battle report is very similar to the one played over on OnTabletop, as we are both using the forces provided within the Operation Sandtrap box set, one of the mission from the box set, and using the gaming mat and terrain from the box set. We set out to use EVERYTHING only from the box set, but my opponent (who got the box early) forgot them at home; and we needed Classified cards, to which those did not come inside the box. Also, in typical fashion, I did not take many/any pictures during turn 3. We were expecting the game to go a LOT faster than it ended up going. I also managed to forget what most of the classifieds that were drawn for this game. More on that later. There's also no side-story for this one, I did not have anything really planned for it, so here we go! (A week post-game th...
