Hobby Time: Infinativity Set from Warsenal
It sure has been a while since I've had a blog post hasnt it? Something like 4 months or so?
Welp, I am back for a short little while where I can sort of catch my breath. The last few months have just been a wild ride, and im sure the future will just get a bit more crazy. I have 6 more battle reports lined up that need done (just need to get pictures added in). That number SHOULD be higher, but I havent been playing much of anything since PAX Prime concluded in February. There's also an Infinity ITS recap I need to do for the 2025 Richmond Open, which should be short if you know how that went.
There's also little blog post ideas I have for other games, like Fallout Factions, Quar's War, Burrows and Badgers, and probably something else like Necromunda. Things akin to a "my review" of them, hobby posts (whenever that happens) and whatnot.
But hey, we're here to talk about a Hobby Time moment I've had, which is really the first significant one of the year! Just a quick headsup for this one as well, but I somehow misplaced the black backdrop for my lightbox, so the pictures will look bright.
Hobby Time
Today I received a gift from my good buddy Ric; it was supposed to be a Christmas present, but it got to him wildly early (i.e. 6 months) and he chose to hand it off to me today, and as the box was opened, I saw the inside and was quite excited. In said box was a not-yet-released item from Warsenal, no usual Warsenal card inside either marking what it was. He told me later (and sent a picture of it) showing that it's called the Infinativity Holiday Special.
The Infinativity Holiday Special
The set is based mainly around a REM Shack, something Warsenal already produces here. It's color-printed as well, but in a different color scheme as the one; the color scheme being more PanOceanian Blue, which I am okay with personally. The difference it that the shack goes together (what I believe) is mirrored compared to the existing shack; at least based on the instructions for the REM Shack. The large antenna tower sits on the right side of the shack instead of the left; not a real struggle to assemble at all.

There is one additional sprue that will build the manger; didn't take more than a minute to determine how to assemble without instructions. (It's almost like I've built MDF kits before).

The set also comes with a handful of Warsenal clear-acrylic bases and some silhouettes. There are 4 "S2" size bases for Joseph/Mary and 2 remotes that I'm presuming are representing the Ox and Donkey, as this is a form of "stable" for remotes. There is a single larger base (I think a "S4"?) that holds 3 silhouettes to represent the 3 Wise-Men. There's also a little upper-half of what I think is a CrazyKoala or a smaller S1 helper remote, but it fits the role of baby Jesus in the manger.

The one thing I was expecting was a reflective star to go atop the stable, it slots in just fine and would (at most) need a little dot of glue to keep steady.
Overall, this kit was very easy to assemble, taking maybe 45 minutes at most to include remove from the sprue, shearing down the connections bumps on the sides, dry-fitting, and then re-assembling with glue; to which I used standard Elmer's/PVA glue cause that's all I had on hand, and I can fix it later on if need be.
I'm also not surprised that I ended up needing to use Human-Sphere to identify most of those silhouettes, as I dont play PanOceania Military Orders/Acon, or anything with Madtraps.
Now, would I have gotten one myself when they release? ABSOLUTELY yes! Am I happy I have it early, absolutely as well. I have played on multiple tables using the Warsenal Color-Printed terrain, mainly the Xiguan terrain from when I face off against Ric or play on an ITS table; and I'm just excited to have my own color-printed terrain, regardless of how small it is compared to a full-size Infinity Table.
Do you plan on getting one when they come out this December? Should someone come up with a holiday custom mission that isn't just "B-Pong but the ball is the Manger?" Let "the whole world" know down below, or don't, keep your secrets.
What's Next from me?
To be honest, I have no idea. I'm really trying to get the time to build some models for other games, and I just got an email today (3 June 2025) that my Burrows and Badgers order from Oathsworn Games has shipped! So I might have something for B&B sometime.... maybe this year?
At best, the next thing will probably be the Richmond Open ITS recap, which might come out in a few days, and then there's the batreps I need to put out there.
Anyways, catch y'all next time.
That's awesome and silly at the same time. And yes to hobby time!
ReplyDeleteHobby time is a hot commodity that I unfortunately dont have a lot of. Gotta use it sparingly
